Milwaukee is about 2 hours from Chicago. Amtrak goes in between. If you decide to drive yourself remember to pack change for toll booths. Stuff to do in Milwaukee: http://www.milwaukeezoo.org/about_us.html http://www.mam.org/visitorsguide/index.htm

Their zoo is good and improving. Miller Brewery is a must if you enjoy beer(even if you don't enjoy their beer). The Milwaukee Art Museum on Lake Michigan is very good, the park on the lake is also great. In Downtown Milwaukee, the city offers unique architecture that many cities do not offer. There are many things to do in Milwaukee, great places to eat and drink, and it is close to you. Amtrak runs in between the two cities, as do several different bus routes. It is just a short drive up the lake from Chicago, hope you have fun.
